The shit going on right now at universities and throughout the entire country, has been a long time developing through a lot of powerful men and increasingly women, but these are bad ppl whose values aren’t what they should be. There’s nothing to fear from a woman of principle being in these positions. I think you miss the forest for the trees by focusing on gender. These are insidious people.
Of course, the political atmosphere of the present academic institution is a byproduct of Postmodern thought and other peripheral progressive movements, which has been promulgated by both sexes. However, I do believe that the increase of women in higher education does contribute to the overall temperament of academic competition. The rigorous nature of comparison and debate is no longer a requisite feature of this institution.
