That author describing his goofy face with technical anatomical terms is so classic shitlib, I can hardly get a few sentences in without my glotis clamping down my gorge. Thanks for summarizing .
"I like the cut of his jib" has always been part of the standard decision-making for liberals in mass media democracy. Only recently has the right-wing engaged in it, because they've repudiated the stifling "content of their character" impulse of conservatives.
I would like to hear more about physiognomy. When I lived in NYC the vast array of visages made me wonder if there isn’t something to it. Certainly I found myself making judgements about people based entirely upon what their bodies looked like and seemed to say. And it seemed entirely natural to do so, in spite of my belief at the time that there could be no relation between physical form and personality. But in fact, it seems, there is. I don’t know what this means except that it’s deeper and more subtle than concluding that biology is destiny.
Is it really physiognomy? To me, It looks to be a case of simply reading facial expression and coping with some desperate justifications for why Walk was so bad compared to Vance.
I think it is certainly a step towards that direction, yes. They are make sweeping judgements based on his immediate appearance, as opposed to actions such as body language analysis. This is essentially physiognomy.
I listened to this over the radio while driving to my parents' house, and both candidates sounded civil and professional. When I watched some video later, Walz did look a little jumpy, probably due to nerves. I don't know if physiognomy is the correct descriptor here.
Vance does look authoritative in a suit. He's a serious person, so he benefits from being himself instead of forced redneck LARPing.

My pleasure!
Great stuff, I've been saying for months now that physiognomy is making a comeback in the mainstream

Am I really the only one who sees Cheswick from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest? Kamala would make a killed Nurse Ratched.
